welp, I feel like I wasted 4 months of my life...
So here's the deal -
Loro and I (and his parents) moved from Puerto Rico to Wisconsin in May of this year. (Mind you, I had just moved from Florida to Wisconsin in February of this year, but that's another story.) Moving and starting over is a challenge in itself but it was to be expected when we got here.
We got here and didn't have a mode of reliable transportation (didn't get one until three months after we got here). When it was time to look for a job, I wanted something easy to get to and that would work around my school schedule. A great and beneficial opportunity opened up and I jumped to start. Everything started off good and had my orientation at the end of May.
Sadly, the good start ended right there. I was put on hold because of paperwork and authorizations. Every time I called the office, the reply I got was "We're still waiting on the authorization. The authorization is still pending." This literally went on for the entire month of June and July. August came and I was starting to get really frustrated. I called just about every other day and got the same reply. Finally, someone told me that the paperwork was filled out incorrectly (not my fault) and had to be resent. I had to wait longer. The whole time I waited, I was told I would get some type of back pay while doing the work even though I hadn't officially started yet.
So I waited the whole month of August and September. There was still no update and the reply was always the same. Until yesterday, I finally got the call that the authorization had been approved and I could come in today at 2pm to get started. I was excited to finally be apart of the working class again.
Then today, I got a call around 11:30 am to not come in because my application had been thrown out because the process took too long. I have to do the 2 hour orientation over and retake the TB test. To top it all off, I would NOT be getting back pay for any work I did in the last four months. -_-
I wanted to flip thefuck out. I wasted four months waiting and waiting like a fool for this to come through and when it finally does, it gets snatched away from me. I could've (should've) went out and got a job at some retail store even though my reasoning for not doing that was it would interfere with schoolwork and for three of the four months I was without reliable transportation.
So now, I have orientation tomorrow and supposed to start on Monday. I promise one thing though, if it doesn't kick in immediately this time. I am not wasting another minute with this company. Trust.

eh! -_-
I've been hit with a case of baby fever again. Now is NOT the time to have baby fever.
It's really a come and go thing. My heart aches to be a mommy but now it just not the time. 3 big reasons: Loro and I aren't married (Like most, I was raised that babies come after marriage. Sure it's 2011 and things "happen" but I'm not going to get into that discussion) we're not living on our own and we aren't financially stable.
It feels like many of my friends (or rather acquaintances) that I went to school or church with have all had babies. I feel like the odd woman out.
I'm 28 and feel like I'm running out of time. It gets to be somewhat of a heavy discussion with me and my boyfriend and I knew from the beginning that he wasn't ready to have kids yet (eventually he does, just not yet). Of course I'd like to be more settled before we have a baby - I just wish I could fast forward time to when we are settled, I have my career, our house and we're married.

OTH day
" 8 years, 8 seasons, 6+ characters, 176 episodes. "
Eight years ago today on September 23,2003, a show by the name of One Tree Hill premiered on the WB. I can't say that I watched the episode that very night (most likely because I worked night shift at Dunkin Donuts) but at some point I became a OTH fan. I own Seasons 1 - 5

Omg! I finally watched the summer finale of pretty little liars! So intense, very frustrated that it ended with such a huge cliff hanger but that's to be expected. So Jenna and the cop supposedly killed Allison?! And that detective is back I was so shocked to see him. The waitress called A 'pretty eyes' so who could this be?? I wonder if dr Sullivan is going to leave town now?

a moment of silence for my laptop...
I'm not kidding. I'm afraid my laptop has seen the last of its days. No less than an hour ago, I moved my laptop from the bed to the table and I heard a weird noise and saw smoke coming out. I immediately shut down my laptop and then sat and panicked. Then I told my "mother-in-law" what happened because my boyfriend was napping. As soon as I heard him turn over, I said "babe theres a problem..." "what" he asked sleepily. "my laptop was smoking." he told me not to use it and it was like I got news of someone's death. It seems to be that my fan is no longer working.
I honestly don't know what I will do without MY laptop. It's everything. School, music, pictures, NSYNC. If I lose my laptop, I lose everything. Loro told me that everything on my laptop can be saved and in the meantime I can use his desktop for school. Eventually my laptop will be replaced. I did need a new one anyways, the N key didn't work, my screen was shaky and my 2 key was hanging by a thread. Not to mention that the charger had to be just right to charge the laptop. So I guess, I should have seen this coming, I just would've hoped it would have happened when I had money to immediately go to the store and buy a new one.

intense topic this week
In my ethics class this week the topic is Abortion. This is one topic that I have not been looking forward to.
It's such an intense topic and I'm so thankful that these discussions won't be taking place in a physical classroom.
Since I have such a great desire to be a mother, I am pro-life (especially for myself). I firmly believe that life begins at the time of fertilization.
Although there are those "hard cases" where a baby is conceived out of rape or incest, birth defects & selective termination or the health of the mother is at risk, with these cases it should be the mother's choice. But abortion should NOT be abused and used as a form of birth control. There is always the choice of adoption. There are several families at their who are not able to conceive their own child and they would be happy to take in that baby as their own.
I can't wait until this unit is over.
