LoChi's Pepper Steak

So my boyfriend and I have used this recipe to make Pepper Steak twice and both times it came out really good. Originally we used this recipe but made a few alterations. So here's how we do it.

 Ingredients:
thin steak (cut into small strips)
green peppers
onions
mushrooms (or whatever veggies you desire)
soy sauce
butter
flour

1. Boil steak for 15 minutes or so until tender. At this point, we add cumin, garlic & black pepper to the steak while it's boiling. (We don't add salt because with the soy sauce it gets too salty.)

2. While the steak is boiling cut up the veggies of your choice.

3. Once veggies are cut up and and steak is just about done, take out a wok (or any deep pan) on medium heat add butter, soy sauce and a little flour to thicken it up. (I don't have any specific measurements because we just eye it out.) Let veggies saute in butter for 5 minutes.

4. Drain steak, then add to wok. Mix steak and veggies together until all steak is coated with sauce mixture. If necessary add more soy sauce and butter.

5. Let sit for 5 minutes.

6. Serve with rice or side of your choice.

Day 3- a picture of you with your friends
Well this is awkward. I don't have a (current) picture of me and my friends. I haven't hung out with friends in such a long time. In 2006, I moved cities away from my friends and had a busy work schedule so not much time to hang out. Then, I moved from my home state in 2008. I haven't had many opportunities to make new friends. I suppose I could post a picture of my boyfriend and me but I won't. I  miss having friends to hang out with but it's no biggie. A friendship is a 2 way street, I shouldn't be the only one to pick up a phone or send a msg on facebook. The only person in my life that I know is a TRUE friend is my boyfriend. So although not having a picture to post of me and my friends is awkward and upsetting, I have a fantastic boyfriend that I look forward to sharing the rest of my life with

the meaning behind your blogspot name...

I named this blogspot "still on my brain" because of a Justin Timberlake song but mainly because if I have something on my mind and I keep it in, it stays on my mind till I get it off my mind, hince "still on my brain". Lately, I don't feel like bothering anyone with what's on my mind so a blog is the perfect place to get it out all out. My first blog name (see url) was chatterwithchichi, and I used that name for this blog to chatter about anything that was on my mind.

another 30 day challenge

Well, I did a 30 day challenge on my original blog earlier this year. I decided to do a different challenge for this blog. (Some of the questions are the same but most of them are different.) I can't guarentee that I will post daily but I will finish the challenge.

Me with no makeup

Day 1:  A picture of yourself and 15 facts

1. I'm in love with a Puerto Rican.

2. I choose not to wear facial makeup because my skintone is pretty even. When I do have blemishes to cover up I use a concealer and that's it.

3. My favorite colors are pink, baby blue and purple.

4. I grew up in Central Florida.

5. My favorite number is 5. NSYNC had 5 members. Stars have 5 points (which is why they are my favorite shape)

6. As a child, I was deathly afraid of people in costumes & clowns. (I still don't like clowns.)

7. One summer, while attending "summer camp" at La petite Academy we went on a field trip to Gatorland and I fell in the swamp head first.

9. I do not know how to swim and am a tad bit scared to learn for fear of drowning.

10. Growing up I wanted to be a pediatric nurse, now I want to be a Kindergarten teacher and I'm currently attending school to get my associates degree.

11. I use to be able to do a jump split but couldn't do one to save my life now.

12. I'm Disney obsessed and watch the Disney channel daily.

13. I'm a casual dresser (jeans (or shorts) & a t-shirt) but I love makeup & nail polish.

14. I can't wait to get married and be a wife & mom. (Although I have a fear that I'm not able to have children.)

Wish List

I should probably keep my beauty stuff separated from my other stuff but whatever. I've had no choice but to be on project “no-buy” once again. another month gone

It's July 1st, my birthday month and the year is half over. The best thing that happened this year was moving back with my boyfriend. Although I miss my family, my boyfriend is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with and couldn't imagine living apart any longer. (Besides my time with my family was only supposed to be temporary.)

The worst part of this year has been waiting for my new job to start. I didn't expect the hiring process to take this long. I filled out application in May & went to orientation, yet I'm still waiting. It seems kinda unprofessional for it to be taking this long but then again it isn't your ordinary job.

 Oh, and I finally got my chicken mcnuggets from McDonalds. I was hella excited.
